Welcome to Brooklyn Shoe Space, a shoe making studio that is open to the public for educational programming. The Brooklyn Shoe Space web site and service including (without limitation) all websites, mobile applications and other interactive properties through which the service is delivered (collectively, the “Service”) are owned, operated and distributed by Kstar Shoes Inc. DBA Brooklyn Shoe Space, (referred to in this Privacy Policy as “Brooklyn Shoe Space” or “we” and through similar words such as “us,” “our,” etc.). By accessing any part of the Service, you are agreeing to the terms and conditions described below (this “Privacy Policy”) and the terms and conditions of our terms of service (the “Terms of Service”). If you do not agree to any of these terms, you should not use the Service. This Privacy Policy applies to all users, including both users who are simply viewing content available via the Service and users who have registered as members of Brooklyn Shoe Space.
We may, at our sole discretion, modify this Privacy Policy at any time. By accessing the Service at any time after such modifications, you are agreeing to such modifications. This Privacy Policy was last modified as of October, 2026.
General
Your privacy is very important to us. Accordingly, we have developed this Privacy Policy in order for you to understand how we collect, use, communicate and disclose and make use of personal information. The following outlines our privacy policy.
Personal Information
When you register with us and become a Brooklyn Shoe Space Member, or when you choose to attend a class and sign up, we will ask you for personally identifiable information. This refers to information about you that can be used to contact or identify you. This includes, but is not limited to, your name, address, email address, phone number, but does not include your credit card number or billing information. Payments on this website are processed by Shopify, and the information you provide to Shopify is subject to its privacy policy. We do not receive any of the credit card information you provide at checkout.
In order to send you e-mail from Brooklyn Shoe Space, we need your e-mail address. To provide you with additional services, we may also request your name, geographical coordinates, and telephone number. We may give some or all of this information to the teachers for classes that you sign up for so that they can coordinate their classes. We will not give your name, email, or other personal information to unaffiliated third parties except with your consent or as otherwise set forth in this privacy policy. Though we make every effort to preserve user privacy, we may need to disclose personal information when required by law or when we have a good faith belief that such action is necessary to comply with a current judicial proceeding, a court order or legal process that we receive or to protect our interests or the safety of others. In addition, we may provide personal information to employees, consultants or other business or persons for the purpose of processing such information on our behalf. In such circumstances, we require that these parties agree to protect the confidentiality of such information and to comply with the terms of this Privacy Policy.
Information this website collects
- Account details: your name, email address and password, and your phone number if you give it to us.
- Orders and bookings: when you check out, Shopify shares the order with us, including your name, email address, phone number, billing and shipping addresses, the items you bought and the amounts paid. Class bookings also include the shoe size and any comments you add.
- Messages and inquiries: what you send through our contact, private class, consulting and membership forms, along with your name, email address and phone number.
- Waitlists: your email address and the class session you are waiting for.
- Online courses: the courses you own, your lesson progress, viewing activity, and anything you post in course discussions.
How we store and protect your information
- Your information is stored with the service providers that run this website: Supabase (accounts and our database), Shopify (checkout, payments and order emails), Cloudflare (hosting and course video delivery) and Resend (booking, waitlist and inquiry emails). They process it only on our behalf.
- All information is encrypted in transit between your browser and our services.
- Card details are entered directly into Shopify's checkout and never reach our servers.
- Passwords are stored only in hashed form by our authentication provider. Nobody at Brooklyn Shoe Space can see your password.
- Access to customer information is limited to Brooklyn Shoe Space staff who need it. Teachers can see the bookings for their own classes.
- Course videos are delivered through short-lived, signed links. To protect them from abuse, we keep a one-way hash of the IP address of visitors who are not signed in, never the address itself.
Cookies and browser storage
We use cookies to keep you signed in, and your browser stores your cart so it survives a page reload. We do not use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. Shopify's checkout sets its own cookies, which are covered by Shopify's privacy policy.
How long we keep your information
We keep account and course information for as long as your account is open. Order and booking records are kept for as long as we need them for bookings, accounting and tax purposes. Inquiries are kept while we respond to them and for a reasonable period afterward.
Your choices
We do not sell your personal information. You can ask us for a copy of the information we hold about you, or ask us to correct or delete it, by emailing hello@brooklynshoespace.com. Deleting your account also removes access to any online courses tied to it.
Miscellaneous
In the event that we are acquired by or merged with a third party entity, we reserve the right to transfer or assign the information we have collected from users as part of such merger, acquisition, sale, or other change of control. In the unlikely event of our bankruptcy, insolvency, reorganization, receivership, or assignment for the benefit of creditors, or the application of laws or equitable principles affecting creditors' rights generally, we may not be able to control how your personal information is treated, transferred, or used.
The Service is hosted in the United States and is intended for and directed to users in the United States. If you are accessing the Service from the European Union, Asia, or any other region with laws or regulations governing personal data collection, use, and disclosure, that differ from United States laws, please be advised that through your continued use of the Service, which is governed by United States law, this Privacy Policy, and our Terms of Service, you are transferring your personal information to the United States and you consent to that transfer.
California Civil Code Section 1798.83 permits users of the Service who are California residents to request certain information regarding its disclosure of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes. To make such a request, please send an e-mail with "California Privacy Rights" in the heading to brooklynshoespace@gmail.com or write us at the address listed below.
