Noriyuki Misawa, award-winning bespoke shoemaker from Misawa & Workshop in Tokyo, Japan will be visiting Brooklyn to teach.
Intro to Bespoke Shoes
Learn how he measures his bespoke clients and modifes his lasts. Students attending will get their detailed measurements, and will also make insoles. Students attending are encouraged to bring a pair of lasts. He will show a demonstration of how he modifies his lasts from those measurements. If there's time, students will have time to do the same for their own lasts. (So, BYOL- Bring Your Own Last)
About Misawa Noriyuki:
From 2002, he started to learn the shoe making in the shoe workshop of Asakusa Towards a shoemaker,and learning in earnest making shoes in a professional school for the next year from two years shoes.
After graduating in 2004, working as a shoemaker. Shoes school instructor also serve concurrently. Since 2009, immigration Austria, to Vienna. Central European art history at the same time, we learn ambitious in the field of art as a field work. The organizers after returning home, launched a MISAWA & WORKSHOP in 2011, own shoe workshop, shoes classroom.
